As a dedicated cinephile who has witnessed the evolution of Indian cinema over the past few decades, I must say that Kalki 2898 AD is nothing short of a groundbreaking masterpiece. The fusion of traditional mythology with futuristic science fiction is a bold and innovative move that Nag Ashwin, the visionary director, has pulled off seamlessly.
In the year 2898 AD, I’m thrilled to be part of the global chorus praising Kalki, a film that boasts an extraordinary cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and many others. This masterpiece directed by Nag Ashwin is truly a blockbuster sensation, earning acclaim from every corner of the world.
The image shows Amitabh Bachchan adorned in the attire of Ashwatthama. He’s wielding a long staff, enhancing the enigmatic atmosphere. Nearby, there are massive stone slabs etched with old-style writing and a backdrop of a blue screen.
Simultaneously, Nag Ashwin can be spotted squatting beside Keya, possibly providing directions or discussing the sequence. This intimate exchange implies that he plays an active role in directing the scene personally.
In this scene, you can clearly see the team and their gear right up front, highlighting just how massive the production is. This clutter suggests that a lot of intricate details and technical challenges must be handled to make such an epic story come alive.
As a fervent admirer, I’m thrilled to share this picture! The creators penned, “Learning under the great one’s tutelage. #Kalki2898AD @SrBachchan @nagashwin7.”

Right after that, creators revealed another behind-the-scenes snap from Kalki 2898 AD, this time featuring myself alongside Disha Patani and Prabhas, along with our director Nag Ashwin. We’re seen deep in conversation on set. The makers captioned the photo as “Our Bhairava and Roxie.”

2898 AD’s Kalki movie breaks new ground by blending ancient Indian folklore with advanced sci-fi elements. The story unfolds in the year 2898 within the grim, resource-depleted city of Kasi, where a repressive regime rules.
The tale revolves around Bhairava, portrayed by Prabhas, who is a relentless tracker seeking wealth so he can gain access to a paradise-like edifice called The Complex. This structure is governed by the oppressive ruler Supreme Yaskin, played by Kamal Haasan.
Bhairava’s life undergoes a transformation when he encounters Ashwatthama (portrayed by Amitabh Bachchan) and Sumathi, initially known as SUM-80 and later recognized as Deepika Padukone, a pregnant refugee with a substantial reward for her capture. The role of Sumathi is crucial because she is thought to carry the child who might be the foretold savior, similar to Vishnu’s final avatar, Kalki, who is fated to bring an end to the era of darkness called Kali Yuga.
As a seasoned lifestyle enthusiast who has seen countless movies throughout my years of exploring various cultural nuances, I must say that experiencing the latest blockbuster hit on June 27 was truly a memorable occasion. The film, which is currently captivating audiences worldwide, left me utterly spellbound by its intricate plotlines and exceptional cinematography. It’s rare to find such a masterpiece that resonates with both the heart and the mind, but this movie managed to do just that, leaving an indelible mark on my life as a connoisseur of fine films. I wholeheartedly recommend catching it in theaters before it disappears from the silver screen, as it’s a cinematic experience not to be missed!
