The movie “Kadakan,” featuring Hakim Shahjahan, premiered on the big screen as early as March 1st of this year. Guided by director Sajil Mampad, it initially received a variety of reactions upon its release. Yet, the film is now poised to debut digitally in the near future.

The movie “Kadakan” takes place in Nilambur, located within the Malappuram district of Kerala. This film delves into the world of the sand mafia and their confrontations with law enforcement. The narrative primarily revolves around Sulfi, portrayed by Hakim Shahjahan, who is deeply entrenched in the illegal sand mining business. As the story unfolds, it reveals the central conflict that drives the plot. It emphasizes the rivalry between Sulfi’s gang and a competing group led by Churula Mani, played by Manikandan.

In the initial part, there are heated exchanges among Mani, Sulfi, and their associates. A fascinating fact emerges about their lineage: Sulfi’s father, portrayed by Harisree Ashokan as Hyder Ali, used to be pals with Mani’s dad. Notably, Hyder Ali is a seasoned smuggler who persists in this questionable practice for swift financial gains, disregarding the ethical dilemmas involved.

In the plot, character Sulfi, who’s romantically involved with Lakshmi (portrayed by Sona Olickal), engages in illicit activities that displease Lakshmi. Despite her objections, Sulfi persists in his criminal enterprise. The tale takes a new direction when Sulfi clashes with the law enforcement. Enter Circle Inspector Rajeev, played by Renjith, who carries a longstanding grudge against Hyder Ali. The cause of this animosity remains unclear, introducing an enigma into the narrative.

In the story, Rajeev sets his sights on Sulfi and manages to have him apprehended. As the narrative unfolds, it transforms into a dramatic exploration of revenge. The central query revolves around whether Sulfi can conquer these challenges. Kadakan skillfully weaves this captivating yarn about rivalry and ethical dilemmas.
