As a lifestyle expert, I’d like to share some insights on the remarkable duo, Suriya and Jyotika, who are undeniably one of the power couples in the South cinematic realm. Both have earned their stripes as exceptional actors, carving out unique niches within the film industry with their unparalleled talent.
In a recent interview, the multi-talented Jyotika, currently gearing up for the release of her upcoming project Dabba Cartel, disclosed her decision to temporarily step away from films shortly after marriage – a period that marked a significant juncture in her illustrious career.
As an ardent admirer putting words to thoughts, I’ve always wondered: When Jyotika graced the screen, was there a moment when she felt a pang of longing for the silver screen, given that her career had reached its zenith? And, in the midst of her brilliance, did she ever feel as though she missed out on more opportunities within the Hindi film industry, considering she shifted her focus towards South cinema just before her spectacular break?
In response, Jyotika shared that she was content with the type of work she accomplished in Bollywood and delighted with the recognition she received in the southern film industry. Additionally, she got married at age 28 and took a break from work until she was 35; however, she had little to complain about during this time.
Speaking candidly, the actress shared her joy of thriving in the Southern film industry. She’s particularly proud of the notable roles she played there, adding that she feels fortunate to have been a part of it. Additionally, she questioned whether she may not have had those same opportunities if she had worked in Hindi cinema instead. Lastly, she disclosed that she took a break from acting at age 28 due to marriage, only to return to films when she was 35 years old.
As we delve deeper into our chat, I’d like to share some insights on how my husband, Suriya, and I maintain a sense of normalcy at home despite our public profiles. We strive to ensure that fame remains outside our doorstep, creating an environment where our children can grow up in a typical household setting.
In simpler terms, she mentioned that at home, she and Suriya are merely the parents of their children, and it’s also where they decide on what to put in their kids’ school lunches.
Jyotika expressed, “Perhaps, we set aside our stardom when we step into our homes. There, we are simply parents to our children.
After a gap of 24 years, actress Jyotika made her comeback in Hindi cinema with the 2024 release “Shaitaan”, sharing screen space with actors R. Madhavan and Ajay Devgn.
