A recent report by THR suggests that Justin Baldoni’s current legal dispute with Blake Lively is impacting some of his upcoming project plans.
What do we know about Justin Baldoni’s Pac-Man movie?
Based on a recent report from The Hollywood Reporter, there’s uncertainty surrounding a proposed Pac-Man movie, as well as two other projects that Tyler Hoechlin (Baldoni) was slated to direct, due to his court disputes with Blake Lively. Sources close to Baldoni claim that he has forfeited three opportunities and potential losses of “tens of millions of dollars” amidst the ongoing legal battles.
According to THR’s report, not much was known about the upcoming Pac-Man movie starring Dean Israelite, but it was revealed that Baldoni had expressed his desire to “progress forward” and announced the film as a means of separating himself from last year’s controversies with Blake Lively. However, that announcement didn’t materialize, and now, as per the report, partners at Wayfarer Studios are discussing potential issues as Baldoni faces competition from industry heavyweights like Lively and her spouse, Ryan Reynolds.
Lively’s complaint alleges that Baldoni created a hostile work environment
Last month, I found myself filing a complaint against Baldoni due to the intense discomfort I experienced during our work on It Ends With Us. In my complaint, I expressed concerns about a toxic work environment, which led to an emergency meeting being called. During this meeting, I requested several changes in behavior from Baldoni. Specifically, I asked him to cease sharing nude videos or images of women, to stop discussing his pornography addiction with me, to refrain from talking about sexual experiences in my presence, and finally, to stop making comments about my weight.
The complaint further alleges that Wayfarer Studios and the cast had agreed to emphasize the strong and resilient aspects of Lively’s character in promoting the movie, rather than portraying it as a tale centered around domestic violence. However, Lively contends that Baldoni went back on this agreement by discussing the film’s heavy subject matter in interviews.
According to Lively’s statement, it was alleged that Baldoni and his PR manager, Melissa Nathan, had conversations about initiating a social media smear campaign intended to damage Lively’s reputation. The evidence presented by Lively spans over 22 pages of text messages between Baldoni’s publicist and Nathan, where they expressed a desire to ‘bury’ Lively.
