Justin Baldoni Claims Blake Lively Is Using Her ‘Celebrity Status’ at Deposition — Report

Justin Baldoni’s lawyers are challenging Blake Lively’s attempt to control her upcoming deposition under her preferred conditions, claiming that she is leveraging her celebrity status to secure an unfair advantage. The deposition, set for this Thursday in New York City, is connected to the ongoing legal dispute regarding the film It Ends With Us and involves serious accusations of sexual harassment and defamation.

Justin Baldoni’s attorney responds as Blake Lively makes an unexpected demand for her deposition.

Justin Baldoni’s lawyers claim that Blake Lively is attempting to manage the location of her deposition due to her celebrity status, as suggested by a recent court filing obtained by TMZ. Her preferred choice? To conduct the proceedings at her own attorney’s office in New York City, citing concerns about photographers stationed outside Baldoni’s lawyer’s building.

However, Baldoni’s team argues that there isn’t substantial evidence to suggest Lively would face harassment, and instead, moving locations could potentially benefit her, as both law offices are only a mile away from each other.

Baldoni’s team asserted, “Lively’s actions, such as her foot-stamping and leveraging her celebrity status to take charge of the film (the main point of contention), were unacceptable. However, her lawyer’s outburst is not suitable in this courtroom setting.” They further explained that being away from their office during the deposition would restrict them from privately discussing legal tactics, which is a standard right in any deposition process.

Blake Lively has filed a lawsuit against Justin Baldoni, alleging sexual harassment and retaliation during their collaboration on the film “It Ends With Us.” Additionally, she claims Baldoni’s publicity team orchestrated a malicious campaign to tarnish her reputation. In response, Baldoni filed a lawsuit against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, for defamation and extortion. However, a judge recently dismissed that case.

According to People’s report, Lively’s representative stated that Lively is eager for her upcoming deposition next week and expects it to adhere to the same guidelines as any other witness in this case. Justin Baldoni’s lawyer has attempted to turn this matter into a public spectacle on numerous occasions, even suggesting the sale of tickets for a televised deposition at Madison Square Garden.
