Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths Part 3 Ending Explained: Where Do They Go?

As a die-hard DC fan, I have to admit that Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths Part 3 left me speechless. The final film of the Tomorrowverse trilogy brought an epic conclusion to the multiverse saga that had kept me hooked since 2020.

On July 16, 2021, the third installment of “Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths” was unveiled. This marks the conclusion of the Crisis on Infinite Earths trilogy and also signifies the last film in DC’s Tomorrowverse, which started in 2020. In this thrilling finale, numerous DC Comics superheroes join forces to confront the menacing Anti-Monitor, with the multiverse’s survival at stake. Here’s a simple summary of the ending, including some spoilers.

What happens to the multiverse at the end of Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths Part 3?

In Part 3 of “The Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths,” numerous animated DC universes come to an end as they are destroyed. The heroic figures then transition to a brand-new universe.

In the movie, the Monitor, fatally struck down by an Anti-Monitor manipulated Supergirl, employs his residual cosmic power to shift several surviving DC universes into the Bleed. The Bleed is a sanctuary for numerous worlds and realities. However, this sanctuary comes with complications such as invasions and disrupted timelines due to anomalies.

On Earth-10, Lex Luthor joined forces with others to prevent the annihilation of parallel universes. He employed the captive Psycho Pirate as a go-between to communicate with the ominous being known as the Anti-Monitor. In exchange for providing locations of certain worlds set for destruction, Luthor ingeniously arranged for undamaged realms to keep tabs on the unfolding chaos and gather essential intel.

Later on, Luthor devises a strategy: he proposes to Superman that he draws power from the rays of the fifty-two suns, transforming into an explosive force. This explosive force would have the capability to annihilate the Anti-Monitor. Despite Earth-1 Lois Lane’s protests, Superman considers this plan plausible.

In due time, the Anti-Monitor emerges with an intention to eliminate our heroic team. Yet, just as this occurs, Martian Manhunter joins forces with Warworld. Warworld intervenes, employing Psycho Pirate to stimulate positive emotions within the Bleed and amplify Warworld’s power. With its enhanced might, Warworld inflicts substantial damage upon the relentless Anti-Monitor.

Later on, Superman tries to transform into an explosive superbeing to eliminate the Anti-Monitor at the cost of his own life. Yet, Supergirl manages to prevent him from carrying out this self-destructive act.

Supergirl soars into the Anti-Monitor’s body and detonates, resulting in the Anti-Monitor’s demise but her own unfortunate loss. Regrettably, the team recognizes that as the multiverse continues to exist, there will be more villains like the Anti-Monitor. They further understand that they cannot keep giving up heroes to eliminate numerous Anti-Monitors.

The heroes face a challenging dilemma next: merging numerous Earths into one, named Earth-Prime, with a unified timeline. However, operating the Miracle Machine necessitates an infinite life force. As a consequence, Wonder Woman from Earth-2 makes the ultimate sacrifice. She relinquishes her godhood to power the Miracle Machine, leading to her unfortunate demise.

Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths Part 3’s new universe explained

In Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths Part 3, a fresh universe named Earth-Prime emerges. This new reality is populated by its residents, including superheroes, who are actually amalgamations of their previous counterparts from various multiverse realities.

As a gamer, I’d describe it like this: Stepping through the Miracle Machine’s portal, I, along with the remaining champions and rogue elements like Lex Luthor and Joker, embark on a new journey to Earth-Prime. Before we go, Superman and Batman are granted emotional goodbyes from Lois Lane of Earth-1 and Huntress from Earth-2 respectively. These heartfelt departures fill us with optimism for the future ahead.

In “The Question’s” storyline, Earth-Prime is discarded, and John Constantine stays behind. He forgoes entering the portal produced by the Miracle Machine. Instead, he chooses to accompany The Spectre. This decision comes as a result of Constantine recognizing his overconfidence during the events of “Justice League Dark: Apokolips War.” In that movie, his arrogance led him to underestimate the consequences of Flash’s time travel attempt to mend the damage inflicted by Darkseid.

The third installment of “Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths Part 3” is now available for digital viewing. This movie boasts the vocal talents of Jensen Ackles, Darren Criss, Corey Stoll, Stana Katic, and Meg Donnelly, along with other notable actors.
