Jurassic World Rebirth is eying a huge opening weekend at the box office.
Under the direction of Gareth Edwards, the much-anticipated movie titled “Jurassic World: Rebirth” is set to hit American cinemas in approximately one month’s time. Among its star-studded cast are Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey, and others.
How much is Jurassic World Rebirth expected to make in its opening weekend?
There’s been a lot of talk about how well Jurassic World Rebirth might perform at American cinemas. Given that it will encounter tough rivalry later in the month, with Superman and The Fantastic Four: First Steps also releasing in July, there are concerns. However, according to Deadline, followers of the franchise can breathe a sigh of relief, as Jurassic World Rebirth is predicted to rake in about $115M-$135M during its initial five-day weekend run.
Compared to the others, Jurassic World Dominion earned approximately $145 million in its initial three-day run. Only Jurassic Park III, when it premiered during a five-day holiday period, managed to pull off slightly less with $85 million.
Five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, most of the planet has become unsuitable for dinosaurs. Those that survive live in isolated tropical areas with climates similar to their original habitat. The three largest creatures on land, sea, and air in this biosphere hold a crucial secret in their DNA – they carry the code for a drug that could offer extraordinary life-saving benefits to humans.
Actress Johansson, nominated for an Academy Award, portrays Zora Bennett, a proficient undercover operative hired to direct a team on a highly confidential assignment to obtain genetic material. However, Zora’s operation encounters a civilian family whose boat trip was disrupted by marauding aquatic dinosaurs, leaving them stranded on an off-limits island that used to host a secret Jurassic Park research facility. On this island teeming with various types of dinosaurs, they uncover a chilling revelation that has been concealed from the world for over four decades.
Jurassic World Rebirth opens in United States theaters on July 2, 2025, from Universal Pictures.
