Julian McMahon Passes Away, Nip/Tuck Star Was 56

This week, at the age of 56, actor Julian McMahon, famously recognized for his performances in Nip/Tuck, Charmed, and portraying Doctor Doom in the Fantastic Four movies from the 2000s, sadly passed away.

On Friday, Kelly McMahon, McMahon’s wife, disclosed to Deadline that Julian passed away on July 2, following a hidden struggle with cancer. In her statement, Kelly mentioned that Julian desired to bring happiness to an extensive number of people and expressed gratitude for the memories he left behind with his family and friends.

Born in Sydney, Australia, in 1968, Julian started off as a model and later moved into acting in 1989. He initially appeared in the Australian soap operas The Power, The Passion and Home and Away from 1989 to 1991. His cinematic debut was in the 1992 comedy film “Wet and Wild Summer!” After that, he shifted his focus to the United States, taking part in various projects. His initial significant role in America was on the crime drama series Profiler. Later, from its third, fourth, and fifth seasons, he played Cole Turner on Charmed.

McMahon is best known for his role in Ryan Murphy’s FX medical drama Nip/Tuck, which he played from its debut in 2003 until the series ended six seasons later. Additionally, McMahon portrayed Doctor Doom in the Fox Fantastic Four films, featuring in both 2005’s Fantastic Four and 2007’s Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.
