The Academy Award-nominated actor Andrew Garfield and the renowned Jude Law will appear in a new limited series on Apple TV+ titled “Wild Things”. This series revolves around the famous magicians Siegfried & Roy, with Law portraying Siegfried and Garfield as Roy.
2022 saw the initial announcement that a series was being developed at Apple, with its basis being the Apple Original Podcast “Wild Things: Siegfried & Roy”. The production is scheduled to start this fall. The series’ official summary tells the captivating story of two legendary magicians and showmen, whose white tigers played a crucial role in transforming Sin City into a family-friendly destination. The pair explore the boundaries between illusion and reality in both their personal and professional lives, pushing these concepts to their extremes, until a tragic event sparks a mystery revolving around their final performance in Las Vegas.
The television series is created by John Hoffman, who will additionally take on roles as executive producer, showrunner, and director. Law and Garfield, alongside Brian Grazer, Kristen Zolner, and Natalie Berkus from Imagine Entertainment, Tony Leondis, and Kathy Ciric are also serving as executive producers.
Originally, Siegfried Fischbacher and Roy Horn performed as a nightclub and cruise ship act before moving to Las Vegas. Among their many notable performances was an act featuring magic and white tigers at the Mirage Hotel and Casino from 1999 to 2003. However, their performance came to an abrupt halt when one of the tigers bit Roy in the throat during a live show. This incident led to further complications, including a stroke, which eventually caused them to close their show and retire completely from public life.
