Josh Hartnett Fights a Sea Creature in Mysterious New Netflix Show

The actor Josh Hartnett is slated to appear in an upcoming miniseries on Netflix, where he will be portraying a character who confronts a marine monster.

What do we know about Josh Hartnett’s Netflix show?

Titled as of yet, the upcoming series is planned for filming in Newfoundland, Canada. It’s been confirmed that Chris Hartnett will star in and produce this project. At present, we only know that it revolves around a “mysterious marine beast” causing havoc in a town, and a “resilient fisherman” who bravely struggles to safeguard his family, community, and the disappearing lifestyle he knows.

Jesse McKeown is the brain behind the television series, taking charge as both its creator and head writer. In addition to this role, she’ll also take up an executive producer position. Jessica Rhoades will join her in this capacity as well. Netflix made the announcement on their social media platforms, revealing Hartnett’s character too.

Over the last few years, I’ve found myself back on the map, so to speak, in the world of acting. After gracing the screens in some notable movies during the early 2000s, I was fortunate enough to join Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film, Oppenheimer. More recently, I’ve had the pleasure of working with M. Night Shyamalan on his 2024 project, Trap, and I’m also excited about my role in Fight or Flight, set for release in 2025. It’s been an incredible journey!

Forthcoming roles for Hartnett include one in Michael Showalter’s 2026 film titled Verity, and another in James Franco’s movie called The Long Home, the release details of which are yet to be announced.
