What happened to Jordon Smith?

Jordan Smith’s evening at the Arlington Triple Crown took an unfortunate turn during the final race when a crash compelled him out of competition. While in the lead and seemingly on course for a triumphant victory, Smith suddenly lost control over his No. 19 Triumph bike within the whoops section, resulting in a heavy fall to the ground. The impact left him unable to carry on, prompting immediate attention from medical personnel. Later, he was carefully transported off the track on a stretcher and conveyed to a nearby hospital.

Jordan Smith later shared an update on his injuries via social media, stating that he had experienced a collapsed lung and fractured ribs following an accident. Despite feeling disheartened about the crash, he remained optimistic about his recovery. On X (previously known as Twitter), Smith posted, “Hey everyone, I’m really disappointed about crashing like that. I was feeling great and felt great throughout. Unfortunately, I’ve ended up in the hospital with a punctured lung and possibly some broken ribs. We will heal and return as soon as possible.” Prior to the event, Smith was only two points behind Julien Beaumer in the 250SX West Championship standings. However, due to earning no points in Arlington, he dropped to fifth place.

The team, Triumph Factory Racing, is facing increasing difficulties due to the fact that three of its four racers are currently unable to compete. Stilez Robertson is undergoing recovery from a wrist operation, Jalek Swoll is out for the season because of an Achilles injury, and Austin Forkner is the only rider who’s currently fit. The return date for Smith, the fourth rider, remains unclear.
