Actor Jon Lovitz, who was once a part of Saturday Night Live, has affirmed that he and the show’s creator Al Jean are both open to the idea of bringing back The Critic for another run. This announcement follows almost three decades since the adult animated sitcom concluded its two-season broadcast, which started on ABC in 1994 and ended on Fox in 1995.

On his social media platform, Lovitz invited enthusiasts of the initial sitcom to demonstrate their backing for a The Critic reboot by liking his post and expressing their approval digitally.

In this show, Mike Reiss and Al Jean – famously known for their work on the long-lasting animated comedy The Simpsons at Fox – played key roles in its creation and management. The character Jay Sherman, a New York-based, 36-year-old film critic who hosts Coming Attractions, was brought to life by actor Lovitz.
