As a die-hard fan of the Joker, I must say I was both excited and apprehensive about the release of “Joker: Folie À Deux”. Having watched the first movie multiple times, I had high expectations for its sequel. However, my experience at the theater left me feeling somewhat underwhelmed.
Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment has revealed the 4K, Blu-ray, and digital release dates for the musical follow-up to the 2019 critically-acclaimed DC film “Joker: Folie À Deux.” This announcement follows over two weeks since the Joaquin Phoenix-starring movie premiered in theaters.
In the movie, Arthur Fleck is locked up in Arkham Asylum, awaiting trial for his actions as the Joker. Amidst his battle with his two personas, Arthur unexpectedly discovers love and uncovers the music that’s been hidden within him all along.
When is the Joker: Folie À Deux 4K, Blu-ray & digital release dates?
Joker: Folie À Deux will be accessible for rental or purchase on digital platforms starting October 29. Later, it will come out in 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD versions on December 17. Contrary to the original film, the sequel did not meet box office projections. The movie has grossed over $190 million, a figure that pales in comparison to the first Joker’s staggering $1 billion box office earnings in 2019. It received unfavorable feedback from both critics and viewers.

In this new installment, Todd Phillips took charge of the director’s chair once more, collaborating with Scott Silver on the script. The cast includes Lady Gaga (from A Star is Born), Brendan Gleeson (The Banshees of Inisherin), Catherine Keener (known for Get Out and Capote), and Zazie Beetz (famous for Atlanta). Notably, Beetz reprises her character Sophie from the previous film. The executive producers are Michael E. Uslan, Georgia Kacandes, Silver, Mark Friedberg, and Jason Ruder. The producers on this project were Emma Tillinger Koskoff and Joseph Garner.
