In a recent Instagram post, tattoo artist Tay Nicole Clinch revealed the story and motivation behind Meredith’s tattoos. Meredith contacted her a month ago for this work, and although it was her first time doing cremation tattoos, Meredith chose her specifically as the artist. Meredith shared the tale of her husband, which moved Clinch deeply. She confessed that she cried over this story before, and upon learning its connection to her past, she became emotional again.

The tattoo artist disclosed that she granted a special case for Meredith, since she rarely takes on cremation tattoos. She emphasized, “Safety was our top concern. A medical expert was consulted and gave approval, making sure this action was taken thoughtfully and under professional advice.” Meredith showed her gratitude towards Clinch in the comments, saying, “I’m completely smitten with them! Absolutely flawless work by the most amazing girl.

Meredith didn’t get her first tattoo related to her late husband during this recent event. In fact, she had already gotten a signature of his tattoo last month during a visit to Calgary. This was when Johnny Gaudreau’s two previous teams, the Columbus Blue Jackets and Calgary Flames, played against each other in a game that honored him (as reported by People).

In August 2024, Meredith’s husband Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew, who was 29 at the time, tragically lost their lives in a bike accident in New Jersey.
