As a gamer with a penchant for action-packed narratives and an unwavering love for the John Wick franchise, I can hardly contain my excitement about the upcoming TV series, “John Wick: Under The High Table.” With its roots deeply intertwined with the universe established in the movies, this new venture promises to delve further into the intricate world of assassins and the secretive organization known as the High Table.
In the John Wick cinematic world, there’s ongoing growth, as Lionsgate is busy developing a brand-new television show titled “John Wick: Beyond the Guilded Table“.
What is the John Wick TV series about?
As per a recent report from Deadline, the upcoming series is set as a sequel to John Wick: Chapter 4 and carries on immediately following the film’s conclusion. This series will delve into the realm of the High Table – a fictional governing body responsible for the assassins in the franchise. A fresh cast of characters will strive for recognition, while some established figures from the franchise will continue to uphold the traditional order.
In this upcoming series, Keanu Reeves and Chad Stahelski (the director of all four John Wick films) are taking on producer roles. Interestingly, Stahelski will also direct the pilot episode. The series’ scripts will be penned by Robert Levine, a co-creator of “The Old Man”. At present, Reeves isn’t expected to act in the series, but Deadline reports that he is actively involved in the project, providing extensive input and serving as an executive producer alongside Stahelski.
In John Wick: Chapter 4, the narrative revolves around assassin Caine, portrayed by Donnie Yen, striving to gain independence from the ruling body known as the High Table. This quest leads him to confront Keanu Reeves’ character, John Wick, along the way. The film concludes with a dawn battle between Wick and Caine, culminating in Wick slaying the Marquis of the High Table (played by Bill Skarsgård). It appears that Wick succumbs to his wounds at the end of the movie.
It’s been announced that the fifth John Wick movie is still being worked on, and the film John Wick: Under the High Table will not conflict with any future projects in the John Wick series.
