The action-packed film franchise, spearheaded by Keanu Reeves, has produced four movies and a series, along with an upcoming spin-off starring Ana de Armas. According to Brown, while the fifth installment is definitely coming up, it remains uncertain if Reeves will reprise his legendary character following the events that unfolded in Chapter 4. However, she has kept mum about the potential release date for John Wick 5.
John Wick 5 is in development, Lionsgate producer teases Wick’s fate
In a recent chat, it was mentioned that Lionsgate’s veteran team is aggressively pushing forward to broaden the John Wick cinematic universe, with John Wick 5 on the horizon, along with other linked projects.
During a sneak peek event for the John Wick Experience in Las Vegas, Jenefer Brown commented to ComicBook.com that the John Wick universe is expanding at an astonishing rate. Up next is the film Ballerina, our first spin-off, and we’re eagerly anticipating its release. We’ve also announced plans for a fifth John Wick movie, and I believe there will be more spin-offs in the future, possibly including a TV series and video game.
Despite Brown not definitively saying whether Keanu Reeves will reprise his role in John Wick 5, she hinted at the development of a fifth installment and suggested that John Wick’s character might have met his end. We’re all eagerly anticipating updates on this exciting prospect.
Although there have been positive signs about John Wick 5, an official release date has not been set yet. In the meantime, fans eagerly anticipate further news on the upcoming film. Meanwhile, they can enjoy From the World of John Wick: Ballerina, which is due in cinemas on June 6, 2025.
