As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of immersion in the world of action-packed films and video games, the prospect of another John Wick installment sends my adrenaline soaring! Chad Stahelski’s revelation that he has multiple versions for a potential John Wick 5 has me on the edge of my seat.
Director Chad Stahelski has shared that they are currently brainstorming ideas for the possible sequel, John Wick 5. Although an official announcement is yet to be made, Stahelski hinted at having numerous concepts ready for a potential fifth movie. It’s important to note that any future film could deviate from the storyline of John Wick: Chapter 4.
Chad Stahelski says he has ‘three or four versions of a John Wick 5’
In a chat with The Hollywood Reporter, Chad Stahelski, one of the directors behind John Wick, shared that he’s brainstormed several ideas for John Wick 5 over the past few years, referring to them as different approaches to tell the story. He described this process as more of a mental workout than a concrete plan. Although there are concepts, they currently don’t intend to continue the narrative from John Wick: Chapter 4. Stahelski further mentioned that for him, John Wick: Chapter 4 represents the pinnacle of the series so far.
Although there may be another movie, the director emphasized that any potential sequel would not strive to exceed the ending of Chapter 4. Instead, he stated that it would involve a fresh narrative, as he feels that Chapter 4 offered a satisfying conclusion for the John Wick character.
The filmmaker is mainly concerned with maintaining the fundamental aspects of the franchise. He stated, “At times, we may continue to tweak things in production, be it for financial reasons or creative purposes.” The box office success of John Wick: Chapter 4, grossing approximately $440 million globally, underscores the audience’s enthusiasm, but Stahelski remains vigilant about upholding the storyline.
In the creation of John Wick, directors Chad Stahelski and David Leitch persisted in including the crucial scene showing John Wick’s dog being killed, despite studio worries that it might be considered bad luck or off-putting. Keanu Reeves, who played John Wick, stood behind their decision, allowing the scene to remain in the movie. Stahelski acknowledged Reeves’ support by saying, “Keanu was our advocate.
