Legendary WWE figure John Cena recently disclosed details of his hair restoration treatment, acknowledging that fan comments regarding his hair loss encouraged him to undergo the medical process. The entertainer, who transitioned from wrestling to acting, had the procedure performed in November 2024, but chose to discuss his decision publicly only recently during an interview.
Here’s what John Cena had to say about his hair transplant surgery.
John Cena talks about his hair transplant surgery
In a recent interview on The Pat McAfee Show, the actor who plays Peacemaker admitted that he took action regarding his bald patch because of frequent bullying from WWE fans about it. He expressed to the audience, “Your chants and your jokes make me feel insignificant and humiliate me.
He expressed his displeasure by saying, “You guys have no idea what I’ve been through. What happened was clearly harassment. It was unfair and unkind, and I didn’t appreciate it. Regrettably, your persistent teasing led me to undergo a surgical hair replacement procedure. This is the extent of your influence over me,” John Cena added. He later detailed his hair transplant surgery experience, saying, “I noticed so many bald spots, which was concerning. Here’s the catch, after the surgery, your hair sheds because the new growth is taking its place.
Later on, Cena responded more vigorously to the fans’ remarks about his hair, saying, “By the way, thank you for being so observant of my feelings and concerns, because you guys have really torn me apart over a genetic issue that I can’t change. This isn’t right. You aren’t acting right towards me. Why do you think I did it? I’m in the [Royal Rumble] trying to win and yet you ask about my bald spot. That’s not fair. I can’t control that.” (This version is a bit more concise but still maintains the original’s meaning and tone.)
Yesterday, John Cena openly admitted to having a hair transplant, following his triumphant win at WrestleMania 41. This beloved wrestler successfully defeated Cody Rhodes in the highly anticipated WWE championship battle, thereby claiming an impressive 17th WWE Championship belt.
