Over the course of its history, Destiny 2 has encountered numerous amusing glitches and issues, one of which has been eagerly awaited by fans. In the latest Guardian Games Rushdown mode, a beloved character named Jimmy, often referred to as Aspect of Placeholding, has sneakily reappeared in the Whisper mission.
Hey there, fellow Destiny 2 gamers! The Guardian Games have begun and we’ve been diving into the freshly launched Rushdown mode. In this exciting twist, we face off against legendary bosses from our gaming history, including one I encountered at the end of the Whisper mission – Tulgorh, Aspect of Agony. However, something’s not quite right with the tooltip. Instead of Tulgorh, it’s asking us to beat Jimmy, Aspect of Placeholding. Seems like there might be a mix-up there!
It’s clear that this is a temporary name used by the developer before the launch. What’s amusing is that this issue has surfaced previously for this project and apparently was fixed in a patch on February 14, 2025. However, it seems like Jimmy hasn’t been completely removed.
Recently, Destiny 2 has faced some challenging times. After the launch of The Final Shape, the player count drastically decreased, and the game has been beset by numerous bugs and issues. These problems have become so prevalent that creating content for the game has become quite a challenge, as certain quests cannot be finished and information becomes outdated due to frequent disabling or fixing of features. As recently as Tuesday, an incident occurred where Rite of the Nine was accidentally released prematurely with incomplete, textureless weapons.
Previously, Bungie acknowledged such amusing incidents by granting emblems to those involved. It’s possible they might do the same again to honor Jimmy’s event.
