Jil Sander FW25 Was a Quiet Swan Song
Unbeknownst to the audience, Jil Sander’s Fall/Winter 2025 show last Wednesday in Milan was the final show designed by the German luxury label’s creative directors Lucie and Luke Meier. A few hours after the show’s conclusion, the brand shared a press release announcing the end of the couple’s tenure as joint creative directors. “Jil Sander and its Creative Directors Lucie and Luke Meier have mutually decided that this collection would be the last of their collaboration,” said the statement. However, the release did not announce a successor for the couple.
For eight years, a couple served as the leaders in their home, maintaining the minimalist aesthetic preferred by the house’s founder for modern consumers. They skillfully combined sharp tailoring, luxurious fabrics, and gender-neutral shapes. The statement went on to emphasize their achievements, stating that they were grateful to OTB and the Jil Sander teams for consistently pouring their energy, passion, and talent into this project. They are proud of what they’ve achieved alongside such remarkable individuals. Additionally, they expressed special gratitude towards Mr. Rosso.
Dsquared2 Toasts 30 Years in (Show)Biz With Doechii, JT, Naomi Campbell and More
Twin founders Dean and Dan Caten celebrated three decades of their label Dsquared2 with a bold and theatrical Fall 2025 show at Milan Fashion Week. Blending fashion, music, and pop culture — as they’re known for – the runway was set in a nightclub-inspired venue complete with a multi-story building set.
At the beginning of the event, rapper Doechii made a grand entrance reminiscent of Dsquared2’s memorable 2003 show, where supermodel Naomi Campbell was a key player. The star-filled lineup, which included Campbell, Irina Shayk, and NLE Choppa, arrived in a variety of vehicles, donning oversized and miniature outerwear, bold denim, and vibrant feathered garments. Collaborations with Magliano, Vaquera, Ducati, and others breathed new life into designs inspired by the archives. The finale saw Brigitte Nielsen portraying a police officer, apprehending the Caten brothers only to break free for a celebratory runway walk. The show concluded with Doechii and JT performing Alter Ego, emphasizing Dsquared2’s unique blend of rebellious elegance and entertainment.
Bottega Veneta To Unveil New Headquarters In Lieu of Runway Show This Season
Instead of staging a conventional runway show for Fall/Winter 2025, Bottega Veneta will pause its schedule to celebrate its new Milan headquarters. While the Italian house’s new creative director Louise Trotter, who succeeded Matthieu Blazy in January, will not debut her first collection yet, the brand will host a special store event this weekend during Milan Fashion Week.
Located within the historic Manzoni Theater close to the Duomo, the headquarters has undergone restoration alongside Belgian architects Office Kersten Geers David Van Severen. Of its seven levels, three floors have been transformed into a fresh showroom and cultural hub. The upcoming Saturday event will present a performance by Patti Smith, part of a project by Soundwalk Collective, along with a tribute to architect Carlo Mollino. Although the exact date for Trotter’s debut is yet to be announced, the brand aims to begin a fresh chapter in its renowned Milan location.
