Jiiva gets into UGLY spat with reporters on being questioned about alleged abuse in Kollywood amid Hema Committee report row

As a seasoned observer of the entertainment industry, I must admit that I find myself rather conflicted by the recent incident involving actor Jiiva. On one hand, I commend his passionate defense of the Tamil film industry and his desire to maintain a positive atmosphere. After all, artists do have a unique ability to bring joy and light into people’s lives.

More recently, Actor Jiiva found himself in a contentious altercation with some journalists in Tamil Nadu when they brought up the Hema Committee report. At first, the actor attempted to steer clear of these questions by suggesting that such subjects should be left unaddressed. However, things took a turn for the worse, leading to a heated dispute between Jiiva and the reporters who were present.

Initially, Jiiva was questioned concerning the current predicaments linked to the Hema Committee Report. In response, he expressed the importance of fostering a wholesome environment within the film industry. He further commented, “Following the #MeToo movement, we’ve seen both part 1 and now part 2 has emerged. Now, individuals are openly identifying them. This is not right.”

Jiiva politely asked the reporters at the event to steer clear of negative questions since he hadn’t been in Theni for quite some time. He reminisced about his past visit to Theni during the filming of Thenavattu. The actor recognized that many changes are taking place within multiple industries, emphasizing that the media’s role is to report news, while their duty as actors is to uphold a positive atmosphere.

Jiiva stated, “As performers, we aim to put smiles on numerous folks’ faces, and that is why we are present here.”

Despite a reporter bringing up the topic of sexual assault allegations in Kollywood, the actor became agitated and denied its existence within Tamil cinema. Jiiva declared that these occurrences are only prevalent in Kerala’s film industry. He went on to state that he refuses to engage with such questions and suggested that the questioner lacks common sense.

After his reaction, it was reported that Jiiva had a dispute with journalists who had been probing him about his interactions with the press. Aggravated by the situation, Jiiva decided to exit the event without offering any more statements regarding the matter. Nevertheless, a video of the incident has circulated widely on social media, sparking criticism.
