Jey Uso Declares WrestleMania 41 Opponent After Winning WWE Royal Rumble 2025

Jey Uso has now definitively selected his WrestleMania 41 rival, following his triumph in the WWE Royal Rumble 2025. Previously known as the Intercontinental Champion, Uso put on an impressive display during this year’s men’s Royal Rumble competition.

20th on the roster, Jey Uso fought for 36 minutes and 59 seconds, ousting prominent wrestlers such as Shinsuke Nakamura, Sami Zayn, and John Cena. In a nail-biting climax, only Jey Uso and John Cena were left standing, vying for the ultimate win.

At WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas, it was believed that John Cena would triumph, but instead, Jey Uso stunned the WWE Universe by orchestrating an upset and earning a championship match. Following his win at the Royal Rumble, Jey Uso now has the power to pick his title bout, and he’s openly stated his desire to face Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 41.

Jey Uso eyes redemption against Gunther at WWE WrestleMania 41

Previously, Jey Uso has battled Gunther on three occasions, with The Ring General coming out on top each time. During a post-Royal Rumble 2025 interview, Jey was questioned about his potential moves after securing victory in the Royal Rumble.

At Saturday Night’s Main Event, he suffered a defeat against Gunther. However, now, he is given the chance to fight either Gunther or Cody Rhodes for a world title. Jey Uso has made it clear that his goal is to face Gunther and compete for the championship at WrestleMania 41.

As I weighed my choices, I confessed that Gunther was my primary focus in the build-up to the Royal Rumble. With his win now official, I can’t hide my eagerness for another shot at taking him down. In my own words, I said:

“With Gunther on my mind during the lead-up, it’s no secret. Now that he’s won, I can’t suppress my yearning for another go at besting him.

Let me give it another try against Gunther, as I strongly believe I can emerge victorious.

It’s intriguing to see how “The Ring General” will react to Jey Uso’s open challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 41, given that Uso has made his intentions clear.
