Jeremy Allen White is set to star in “Enigma Variations,” a forthcoming Netflix miniseries based on André Aciman’s book with the same title.
Aciman is recognized for penning the novel “Call Me by Your Name,” which was turned into a movie by director Luca Guadagnino in 2017, featuring Timothée Chalamet and Armie Hammer. His work, “Enigma Variations,” was published in 2017 as well.
Based on the report by Variety, it appears that Amanda Kate Shulman, who serves as both writer and executive producer, is now developing a limited series for Netflix based on Enigma Variations, with her also serving as the showrunner.
White, known for starring in The Bear, will star as Paul in the series.
What is Enigma Variations with Jeremy Allen White about?
The book’s summary goes as follows: ‘Enigma Variations’ narrates the life of a man named Paul, whose love affairs continue to be as intense and elusive in his adult years as they were during his teenage days. From the sunny landscapes of southern Italy where he harbors a crush on their family’s cabinetmaker, to the frozen campuses of New England where he repeatedly encounters a girl who holds his affections, and through tennis courts in Central Park or a New York sidewalk in spring – Paul’s connections are fleeting, elusive, and always tinged with raw passion. Every move Paul makes is preceded by hidden pitfalls of hope, denial, fear, and regret. Yet, the allure of love persists. We may not always be clear about what we desire. We might remain puzzles to ourselves and others. However, eventually, we uncover who we’ve always known we are.
At present, no further details about the cast have been disclosed. However, Oliver Hermanus is set to direct and produce the program. Additionally, both Colm White and Nicholas Aciman are serving as executive producers.
A release date for Enigma Variations has not yet been announced by Netflix.
