Jensen Ackles says his 12-year-old daughter is thrilled to see him in Countdown

In a recent chat, the former Supernatural actor expressed that his 12-year-old girl, Justice, can’t wait to watch Countdown.

Jensen Ackles shared with PEOPLE that he believes his eldest child is now mature enough to watch the project. He’s clearly excited about this, as she can’t wait to see it. Additionally, he mentioned that there aren’t many films in his career so far that his kids have been able to watch yet.

The 47-year-old actor commented that she hadn’t had much opportunity to witness her father at work. However, in this particular instance, she will be portraying an active character.

To add to that, The Boys star disclosed that his children were informed about his TV shows, even though they hadn’t watched them as of yet. It’s worth mentioning that besides Justice, Ackles and his spouse Danneel Harris share two 8-year-old twins named Zeppelin and Arrow.

In another conversation with E! News, Ackles shared that his daughter had been urgently asking him to watch Countdown. This enthusiasm originated from ABC’s The Rookie being among her favorite television shows.

As a gamer, I’d tell my kid something like this: “Hey buddy, when it comes to Countdown, it’s gonna be way different from The Rookie. It’s going to be packed with a ton of action, and let me tell you, it won’t have all that soap-opera stuff you sometimes see.

Jared Padalecki (of Big Sky fame) mentioned that he expected his daughter might compare his role in Countdown to Nathan Fillion’s characterization of John Nolan in The Rookie. Remarkably, Padalecki shared an anecdote about a past conversation with Fillion, where he discussed his daughter’s fascination with the latter’s series and asked for a birthday video message from him.

Apart from just sending one, he managed to get everyone in the cast to personally wish him ‘Happy Birthday.’ Ackles commented on this, stating it was the finest gift a father could receive. And the best part? This priceless gesture didn’t cost him a dime – just a phone call.

Countdown drops on Prime Video on June 25, 2025.
