Jennifer Garner will star in a new Peacock series, The Five-Star Weekend.
The Fresh New Series, ‘Five-Star Weekend’, will have both Garner as its lead actor and also serving as an executive producer. This show is adapted from the book of the same title by Elin Hilderbrand.
What is The Five-Star Weekend about?
Title character Hollis Shaw, a renowned food influencer celebrated for her tasty dishes, impeccable palate, and friendly disposition, experiences a heartbreaking tragedy. Struggling to regain footing, this event gradually reveals the flaws in Hollis’s seemingly idyllic existence – her tense marriage, complex bond with her daughter, and escalating desire for validation from her followers. In an attempt to conquer grief and rediscover herself, Hollis devises a plan to host a weekend retreat at her Nantucket residence with three companions spanning various phases of her life: a friend from childhood, one from her twenties, another from her thirties, and a fifth, unexpected guest. Surrounded by opulence and coastal charm, these friends will grow in ways they could never anticipate as barriers are tested and hidden truths come to light.
The show was developed by Bekah Brunstetter, who co-wrote it with Beth Schacter. Both Schacter and Brunstetter hold executive producer roles along with Sue Naegle, Ali Krug, and Elin Hilderbrand. At present, only Ellen Garner has been confirmed for the cast.
Jennifer Garner is recognized for her roles as Elektra Natchios in the 2003 Daredevil and 2005 Elektra movies, and more recently, she reprised this role in 2024’s Deadpool & Wolverine. Her filmography spans a wide range of films, including Pearl Harbor (2001), 13 Going on 30 (2004), Juno (2007), Ghosts of Girlfriends Past (2009), Valentine’s Day (2010), The Odd Life of Timothy Green (2012), Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day (2014), Miracles from Heaven (2016), Peppermint (2018), Yes Day (2021), The Adam Project (2022), and Family Switch (2023), among others.
A premiere date for The Five-Star Weekend has not yet been announced by Peacock.
