Jenna Ortega & Paul Rudd’s Death of a Unicorn Box Office Predictions Are Weak

The anticipated earnings for the comedy horror film “Death of a Unicorn,” starring Jenna Ortega and Paul Rudd, are currently not promising. Written and directed by Alex Scharfman, this movie premiered globally at the South by Southwest Festival on March 8th and is scheduled to be released in U.S. cinemas on March 28th.

In addition to Wednesday and the Scream franchise’s Ortega and Ant-Man’s Rudd, this horror comedy boasts an impressive cast that includes Richard E. Grant (The Lesson), Will Poulter (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3), Téa Leoni (Madam Secretary), and Anthony Carrigan (The Forgotten). However, even with these big names, it seems Death of a Unicorn may still face box office disaster.

What are the Death of a Unicorn box office predictions?

Regardless of the debates about the upcoming live-action Snow White movie starring Rachel Zegler, it appears that the film is projected to outshine Death of a Unicorn at the box office, with predictions of earnings between $5 million and $7 million, as per Deadline’s latest report. Unfortunately, Death of a Unicorn hasn’t been receiving positive critical acclaim either, boasting a Rotten Tomatoes critics score of 58% based on 81 reviews.

In the film, Rudd and Ortega portray the characters of Elliot (father) and Ridley (daughter). Their roles revolve around a deceased unicorn that’s being misused by a wealthy individual. Interestingly, the parents of this dead unicorn are planning retribution for their lost offspring.

In their journey to a weekend getaway, a man named Rudd and his daughter Ortega unintentionally strike and end the life of a magical unicorn. Their wealthy employer, Grant, is eagerly anticipating the retreat as he intends to leverage the unicorn’s extraordinary healing powers.

The horror comedy is overseen by Orterga, Rudd, Ari Aster, David Darby, Jacob Epstein, Nate Kamiya, and others in executive production roles. In the cast, you’ll find Jessica Hynes (known for Miss Austen), Sunita Mani (recognized from Evil Eye), Steve Park (The Good Half), and Kathryn Erbe from Law & Order: Criminal Intent providing voice acting.
