Bezos commented on the rumors on X (formerly Twitter), replying to a post from fellow billionaire Bill Ackman, who had also shot down the rumor, claiming no one could spend the hefty amount unless a house was bought for each guest. “Furthermore, this whole thing is completely false — none of this is happening,” Bezos posted. “The old adage ‘don’t believe everything you read’ is even more true today than it ever has been.”

He then warned netizens to be careful about false reports circulating across the web.

Additionally, Lauren Sanchez dispelled the rumor using her Instagram stories by posting a snapshot of Bezos’ tweet. Accompanying the image, she wrote “Not True” as the caption.

It appears this rumor may have started with a report published by The Daily Mail, as various online platforms have picked up the story about the supposed event. According to The Daily Mail’s sources, Bezos and Sanchez are said to have acquired Matsuhisa restaurant in Colorado for events on December 26 and 27, and their wedding was reportedly held on December 28 at this location.

It was reported by the source that they discovered through a well-known resident of Aspen that Bezos and his companions had flown into town on a private plane on Saturday. Additionally, there was talk that Bezos’ wedding might occur at Kevin Costner’s ranch, Dunbar.

Bezos has yet to publicly discuss his wedding plans, but Sanchez mentioned on The Today Show last month that she was “very excited” about the wedding and had been thinking about her dress for the event. She also admitted that she has a Pinterest account like many brides-to-be, and even has a board dedicated to her wedding ideas.

In May 2023, Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez announced their engagement; it’s said that they began dating back in 2018. Yet, they didn’t make their relationship known to the public until a year later.
