Jeezy is commemorating the 20th anniversary of his album “Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101” by organizing a unique, black-tie symphony tour as a special event.
Starting in June, “TM:101 Live” will see the legendary trap artist reinventing his first major label album with a classical spin. Accompanying Jeezy for this performance are esteemed bassist and composer Derrick Hodge, Color of Noize Orchestra, and DJ Drama as a special guest. Fans can look forward to seeing the rap legend in 23 different cities such as Atlanta, Chicago, New York, and wrapping up in Detroit on September 12.
I’m incredibly thankful that we’re here commemorating 20 years of inspiration! This album is deeply embedded in the cultural consciousness, providing the music backdrop for contemporary storytelling within its genre. Jeezy stated that this album made such an impact because it was genuine and unadulterated. He’s excited for fans to re-experience the album in a fresh manner through this upcoming tour.
In July 2005, Jeezy’s first major commercial release, titled “Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101“, was dropped. This album showcased collaborations with artists such as Mannie Fresh, JAY-Z, Trick Daddy, Akon, T.I and others. The record made a strong debut at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. Later, it was awarded double platinum status by the RIAA.
