Jeethu Joseph’s Nunakkhuzhi Onam OTT release: When and where to watch Basil Joseph and Grace Antony starrer comedy flick

As a dedicated follower of Malayalam cinema, I can confidently say that the upcoming release of Nunakkhuzhi, starring Basil Joseph and Grace Antony, is an exciting prospect. Having grown up with Jeethu Joseph’s Drishyam, I eagerly await his unique brand of storytelling in this comedy ride filled with chaotic elements.

Starting August 15, 2024, the movie “Nunakkhuzhi,” starring Basil Joseph and Grace Antony, will hit theaters. However, beginning on September 13, 2024, you can watch it from home on ZEE5, perfectly timed to celebrate Onam festival this year.

The movie, directed by Jeethu Joseph, who is known for Drishyam, promises to deliver a hilarious journey with chaotic elements throughout. ZEE5 Kerala recently announced that the film will premiere on their platform, and interestingly, it will also be accessible in Telugu and Kannada languages, apart from Malayalam.

The film “Nunakkhuzhi” tells the story of Eby Zachariah Poozhikunnel, a young man on a mission to retrieve a laptop that went missing in his possession, as it contains potentially damaging material. This quest leads him into an encounter with Rashmita Ranjith, who also has her own complex motivations.

Now, both of them are to get the laptop from the hands of the officer before it’s too late and everything slips out of their hands. Talking in detail about the film, Basil said, “I’ve always strived to portray characters that resonate with young Malayalees, often a little clueless, sometimes reckless, but always relatable. In this film, Eby’s situations lead him to make some outrageous choices and tell humorous lies, showcasing how ordinary people can find themselves in extraordinary situations.”

Besides Basil and Grace, this movie boasts an impressive ensemble of actors such as Nikhila Vimal, Siddique, Manoj K. Jayan, Althaf Salim, Binu Pappu, Baiju Santhosh, Azees Nedumangad, Aju Varghese, and others in significant roles. Upon its release, it garnered mixed-to-positive feedback from critics. However, it went on to enjoy commercial success in theaters.

Regarding Basil Joseph’s upcoming projects, the director of Minnal Murali was recently spotted in a brief role in the Malayalam film Vaazha – Biopic of a Billion Boys. Following this appearance, he will be seen in Tovino Thomas’ highly anticipated movie titled Ajayante Randam Moshanam.

As a die-hard admirer, I can’t help but marvel at the versatility of this multi-talented individual who not only directs but also takes on leading roles in films such as “Cup” and “Sookshmadarshini”. The latter, a captivating collaboration with Nazriya Nazim Fahadh, is particularly intriguing.
