Jeep Reveals Ultralight “Bug Out” Concept Based on the 4xe

Jeep has revealed its “Bug Out” 4xe Concept, essentially a streamlined, lightweight adaptation of the Wrangler Rubicon 4xe, tailored for contemporary overlanding expeditions. The design focuses on managing weight, combining the robustness of a Jeep with the simplicity of ultralight camping, resulting in an electric-assisted off-roader that’s both powerful and sustainable.

The Bug Out 4xe boasts a unique PEA51 matte silver finish with eye-catching yellow accents. It stands out with a raised roof for enhanced interior roominess, a Gladiator-inspired tailgate, customized bodywork, and auxiliary battery packs seamlessly incorporated into the sides. Its elongated frame accommodates a high-clearance rear bumper and drop-down tailgate, complemented by 37-inch BFGoodrich KM3 tires fitted on lightweight Forgeline wheels for superior off-road performance.

Within this design, it’s all about ready-for-adventure functionality. Waterproof flooring covered with beds and modular wall panels ensure quick and easy shelter assembly, even including a system for hanging hammocks. The front seats are customized with topographic details and offer generous storage space, reflecting the minimalist yet goal-oriented interior design. A built-in electric scooter branded by Jeep serves as the cherry on top, offering an eco-friendly alternative mode of transportation for up to 40 minutes at a stretch. As of now, Jeep has not revealed any intentions to manufacture this concept.
