Jason Sudeikis Defends Ted Lasso Season 3: Some People ‘Don’t Have Imaginations’

As a dedicated fan of Ted Lasso who’s been following the series since its debut, I must say that I wholeheartedly stand by Jason Sudeikis’ words. Like a seasoned theatergoer, I appreciate the depth and complexity that the show offers, especially Season 3, which demanded active participation from viewers.

Jason Sudeikis is defending Ted Lasso Season 3.

In August 2024, the show “Ted Lasso” debuted on Apple TV+. Starring Jason Sudeikis as the main character, it swiftly gained popularity. Its second season aired in July 2021, and its third season premiered in March 2023.

During its three-season broadcast, Ted Lasso garnered multiple Primetime Emmy nominations and victories. Yet, some viewers and reviewers didn’t show the same enthusiasm for Season 3 as they did for the previous seasons.

In Jeremy Egner’s latest book titled “Believe: The Hidden Truth Behind Ted Lasso, the Series that Touched Our Hearts,” Sudeikis, one of the show’s creators alongside Bill Lawrence, Brendan Hunt, and Joe Kelly, discussed the criticisms leveled at Ted Lasso Season 3 by certain viewers.

What did Jason Sudeikis say about Ted Lasso Season 3?

In a similar vein to live theater, the series, particularly Season 3, engaged the audience as active contributors, according to Sudeikis in his book as reported by TV Line. Not everyone prefers this kind of involvement; some people are content to pass judgment instead of fostering curiosity.

He added, “I can’t fathom individuals who discuss topics so openly, seemingly unaware in my view. And may they be blessed for it; it’s not their fault. They lack imagination and are closed off to the experience of understanding what it means to possess one.

…”Everyone has improved more than they initially were, much like a well-prepared scout leaving a campsite cleaner than when they arrived. If you’re not seeing this progress in the show, then perhaps you’re tuned into a different program.

At present, you can find the initial three installments of Ted Lasso on Apple TV+. As shared by Warner Bros. TV CEO Channing Dungey recently, discussions regarding a possible Ted Lasso Season 4 have taken place; however, they are merely at an early stage in the process.
