In a recent chat with Seth Rogen during Variety’s updated Actors on Actors session, Jason Segel was asked by his Knocked Up colleague about the method he used to get Harrison Ford involved in Apple TV+’s Shrinking series.

Jason Segel shared that when Harrison Ford consented to appear in “Shrinking”, Ford said something along the lines of “Consider me on board, and let the youngster know he’s got a great actor.” (#ActorsOnActors)

In simpler terms, the statement suggests that someone said, “We chose Harrison Ford for our project because he’s a well-known figure who people would recognize when we mention his name. After making the offer to him, we could proudly say, ‘We made an offer to Harrison Ford,’ and then point to the man we actually selected.” Jason Segel followed up by explaining, “He didn’t know anything about me initially, so he asked if I could show him some of my work. Brett Goldstein went to meet with him, and they had a pleasant encounter. Later, they sent him the movies ‘End of the Tour’ and ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall’ for him to evaluate.

Following the observation of Segel’s acting abilities in two movies, Ford contacted Bill Lawrence, the producer for Shrinking, to share his views on Segel. It seems that Lawrence received a message saying, “I’m in, and tell the kid, great job,” which Jason Segel revealed later.
