Jan Schwieterman Passes Away, Good Burger Star Was 52

Man, I can’t believe it! I was just watching some old Good Burger clips and now I hear that the legendary Ed, who played my favorite character, has sadly passed away at only 52. RIP Jan Schwieterman, you’ll always be remembered as the king of Good Burger!

I’ve just received some heartbreaking news. My gaming buddy, Schwieterman, passed away not too long ago. His brother shared the tragic news on Facebook earlier this month. It turns out he was battling an aggressive type of cancer, which we were all unaware of until recently. The shock of his sudden death has left us all stunned.

With deep sorrow, I announce the passing of my dear brother, Jan (JP) Schwieterman. In a Facebook post, I shared that he was battling an aggressive form of stage 4 cancer. At this challenging moment, I ask for your compassionate thoughts and prayers as we journey through our grief. Farewell, my brother. You are deeply loved and sorely missed.

Schwieterman hails from Bluffton, Indianapolis, born in 1972. Soon after completing high school, he ventured to Los Angeles with aspirations of acting. He made appearances in minor roles on popular shows such as ER, Forever, and others, before securing one of his most significant parts, playing the antagonist Kurt Bozwell opposite Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell in the 1997 comedy, Good Burger.

After starring in Good Burger, Schwieterman took on various guest roles until he stepped away from the movie scene in 2000. His last credited performance was in the 2008 indie film titled Along the Way.

ComingSoon sends its condolences to the family and friends of Schwieterman.
