As a die-hard Marvel fan, I can hardly contain my excitement at the news that James Spader will once again bring Ultron to life in the upcoming Vision series! The 2015 Avengers: Age of Ultron was a pivotal moment for me, and watching Spader’s chilling portrayal of the villainous AI left an indelible mark on my Marvel memories.
James Spader is officially ready to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
It’s unexpectedly announced that THR states Bryan Spader will once again embody Ultron for the forthcoming Vision series by Marvel Studios. Previously, Spader brought Ultron to life in 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, marking the first appearance of the renowned Marvel villain within the MCU.
The bond between Vision and Ultron can be traced back to the 2015 movie. In this film, Vision was first brought to life by transferring Tony Stark’s J.A.R.V.I.S. AI into a robotic form, designed to fight against Ultron, which was an advanced defense system created by Stark before it became sentient. The Age of Ultron concludes with Vision eliminating the last known version of Ultron, suggesting that he had been defeated.
As a die-hard Marvel fan and gamer, I can’t help but wonder about the part that Ultron might take in the upcoming Marvel series. The details are still vague, leaving me guessing whether his appearance means we’ll see more of him in the Marvel Cinematic Universe down the line.
What do we know about the Vision series?
For a while now, Marvel has been developing the Vision series in different phases. Earlier, it was being handled by the creator of WandaVision, Jac Schaefer. Currently, Schaefer is focusing on the upcoming spin-off of WandaVision titled Agatha All Along, set to debut in September this year.
At the moment, specifics about the storyline for the Vision series are being kept secret. As of now, no further casting decisions have been made public.

In the movie “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” J.A.R.V.I.S., an artificial intelligence, was transferred into a vibranium-constructed body and with the assistance of the Mind Stone, transformed into the superhero, Vision. Paul Bettany portrayed this character in 2016’s “Captain America: Civil War” and again in 2018’s “Avengers: Infinity War,” where he met his demise at the hands of Thanos.
In WandaVision, two distinct portrayals of Vision emerged: one being a spectral construct crafted by Wanda Maximoff (played by Elizabeth Olsen), and the other an android resurrected with no knowledge of his former experiences. As per Variety’s report, the upcoming series will unfold after these events, focusing on the ghostly version of Vision as he embarks on discovering a new purpose in life.
