During a recent talk at New York Comic Con, James Gunn was questioned about the aesthetic style of the DC Universe and if the initial projects would determine the overall tone. However, Gunn clarified that there won’t be a single dominant “theme” or look for this universe.
According to Gunn, each project produced by DC Studios will have its unique identity. For instance, the Creature Commandos series won’t resemble Superman in any way when it debuts. Similarly, the second season of Peacemaker will also be distinct from its initial release. Although they are part of a connected universe, there won’t be a uniform aesthetic enforced across all productions.
2021 will see the launch of the DC Universe, beginning with the animated Max series Creature Commandos. Upcoming projects within the DC Universe include James Gunn’s upcoming Superman movie, season 2 of Peacemaker, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, the HBO show Lanterns, a Teen Titans film, and a project focusing on Bane and Deathstroke, which currently doesn’t have a title.
