James Gunn has shared a new look at Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific in the DCU Superman movie.
In July, the upcoming Superman movie is scheduled for release in U.S. cinemas. This marks the debut feature within Gunn and Safran’s DCU, with David Corenswet donning the Man of Steel costume and Rachel Brosnahan bringing Lois Lane to life on screen.
In the upcoming DC Universe (DCU) series of Superman, several well-known superhero characters will be introduced for the first time. These include Mister Terrific played by Gathegi, Nathan Fillion’s portrayal of Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Anthony Carrigan’s version of Metamorpho, and María Gabriela de Faría as Angela Spica/The Engineer. Additionally, there may be more characters joining the lineup.

On Instagram, Gunn posted a fresh snapshot from the Superman set, featuring him conversing with Gathegi and Brosnahan. He captioned it, “Wishing my terrific friend and outstanding actor [Edi Gathegi] a Happy Birthday! Keep an eye out for him in all his tech-infused brilliance in Superman, hitting theaters in July!

The first feature film from DC Studios, “Superman,” is set to fly into cinemas globally this summer, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. In his distinctive approach, director James Gunn reimagines the original superhero within a fresh universe for DC, combining spectacular action, humor, and emotional depth. This Superman is motivated by compassion and a firm conviction in human goodness.
Under the guidance of director Gunn, this movie includes Nicholas Hoult portraying Lex Luthor, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Sara Sampaio stepping into the role of Eve Teschmacher, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, Pruitt Taylor Vince as Jonathan Kent, Neva Howell as Martha Kent, Terence Rosemore as Otis, and Beck Bennett assuming the character of Steve Lombard, among others.
In the production of this film, Gunn and Safran take on producer roles, while Nikolas Korda, Chantal Nong Vo, and Lars Winther assume the positions of executive producers.
