Jake Paul vs. MrBeast: Saudi Boxing Chief Suggests Fight Over “YouTube Belt”

As a devoted follower, I’ve found myself at the center of a storm after daringly calling out Canelo Alvarez, and my response to the subsequent cancellation of our bout has stirred quite a bit of controversy.

Millions of years ago, a series of seemingly random physical and chemical processes laid the foundation for the world as we know it now. These events, though unpredictable, gave rise to many aspects of our daily lives that we often overlook: Each day, the sun appears above the horizon. Each day, the North American red squirrel (Sciurus igniventris) emerges in search of delicious tree seeds. Each day, Jake Paul ponders ways to make an impact – or annoy the world – with his presence.

Jake Paul Complains About Canelo’s Cancellation

Following their previous disappointment of not witnessing a fight between the Paul brothers last week, it was actually Jake Paul who expressed anger this time over a potential match-up that didn’t materialize. On February 7th, he voiced his displeasure on X (formerly Twitter, now barely tolerable) towards Mexican boxing legend Saul “Canelo” Alvarez for declining to fight him in the ring.

Headline Update: Canelo Alvarez reportedly avoids fight with Jake Paul, sparking controversy among Mexican fans who admire him in the US. It’s no secret that his career has been criticized for lack of significant contributions to boxing beyond the ring. I, on the other hand, am making waves as a fresh and influential figure…

Following Canelo’s decision to scrap a scheduled boxing match and instead secure a deal with Riyadh Season, an annual winter entertainment event, Paul asserted that his competitor had never made significant contributions to the sport of boxing. Simultaneously, Paul considered himself as the sport’s new ambassador, suggesting that any important fights would be impossible without his involvement.

Criticism On “Slave”-Statement

During the course of events, he made a controversial comment by calling Canelo a “servant,” which drew significant criticism. Even the organizers of Riyadh Season, based in Saudi Arabia, strongly condemned this remark.

Besides several ministers criticizing the American’s choice of words, it was also Turki Alalshikh, a prominent sports official in Saudi Arabia, who voiced his opinion.

He expressed the opinion that Canelo was not yet ready for a match against Jake Paul and suggested that Paul wait another thirty years before facing the 60-year-old – a subtle dig at the fact that Paul often selects legendary, but admittedly older, opponents such as Mike Tyson.

Jake Paul could face off against MrBeast in a boxing match instead. He even suggested organizing this event as a “YouTube Belt” battle, overseen by Disney.

Despite Canelo’s initial choice of an opponent not being universally praised, some boxing enthusiasts argued that the height disparity between Canelo, approximately 5’7, and Jake, who is 5’11, might raise similar concerns as Paul’s propensity to fight boxers who are past their prime.

1. In your opinion, does Jake Paul have a legitimate place in the world of boxing?
2. If given the chance, who would you like to see Jake Paul fight against in the ring?
