Recently, Mohanlal has been grabbing attention, particularly due to the excitement surrounding his upcoming Malayalam movie, L2: Empuraan. This film, helmed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, is scheduled for release on March 27 in cinemas. At the same time, there have been whispers about Mohanlal’s potential role in Jailer 2, given his participation in the initial version.
In a recent conversation with Cinema Vikatan, Mohanlal revealed that multiple Tamil film scripts have come his way lately, yet he’s unable to explore them because of his ongoing obligations towards the project, “Empuraan.
Instead of suggesting directly, he playfully implied that the production of Jailer 2 is ongoing and showed enthusiasm about potentially collaborating on the project if invited. Essentially, he said, “I’ve received several scripts from Tamil films, but I’ve been preoccupied with Empuraan and other projects. Now that Jailer 2 has begun production, I will be involved if they ask me to participate.
For those who might not know, Mohanlal made a special appearance in the first edition of the film starring Rajinikanth, portraying the character Mathew. Although Malayalam cinema’s leading man has hinted at potentially returning, it is yet to be determined if he will reprise his well-known role in the upcoming sequel.
Regarding Mohanlal’s professional endeavors, everyone is eagerly awaiting his upcoming major project, L2: Empuraan, which serves as a follow-up to his 2019 hit movie, Lucifer.
In simpler terms, the well-known actor from Malayalam cinema is set to play the character of Stephen Nedumpully again. The previews, such as posters, trailers, and teasers, have already hinted at a thrilling movie adventure that fans will surely enjoy.
Under the direction of Prithviraj Sukumaran, the film L2: Empuraan has seen a significant surge in advance ticket sales throughout India and abroad.
The movie was penned by Murali Gopy and overseen by Anthony Perumbavoor. It boasts an impressive ensemble of actors, such as Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Indrajith Sukumaran, Abhimanyu Singh, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Saikumar, along with others.
