Currently, the production of movie number two featuring Rajinikanth as the main character, titled “Jailer 2,” is in progress. A part of this shooting schedule was completed in Kerala. Now, the film’s director Nelson Dilipkumar recently paid a visit to Mohanlal on the sets of his movie, “Hridayapoorvam.
Based on recent updates, such as those mentioned by movie enthusiast Amutha Bharathi, there have been rumors circulating about the director’s potential visit. Yet, no formal announcement regarding this matter has been issued so far.
For those not familiar, in the initial release of Rajinikanth’s film titled “Jailer”, Mohanlal made a brief appearance. This renowned Malayalam actor embodied the character of Mathew, a powerful underworld leader from Mumbai who lends aid to Muthuvel Pandian during a crucial moment.
2023’s blockbuster film featuring Rajinikanth also included brief appearances by Shiva Rajkumar and Jackie Shroff. This movie, as discussed, primarily revolves around the tale of a former prison warden seeking retribution against those who wronged his son, with special emphasis on the storyline provided by Jailer.
It’s predicted that the upcoming sequel movie will be even more thrilling and action-filled. Notably, Nandamuri Balakrishna is rumored to make a brief appearance in this film as well. Additionally, it seems that Rajinikanth’s movie may also feature Fahadh Faasil and Suraj Venjaramoodu.
Alternatively, Rajinikanth is ready for his next appearance on the large screens with Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie. This film, scheduled to premiere on August 14, 2025, is known for being an action-packed entertainer, featuring Rajinikanth in a role that leans towards the negative side.
Beyond just him, the movie Coolie also features a group of talented actors such as Nagarjuna Akkineni, Upendra Rao, Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, and others. Furthermore, it’s anticipated that Aamir Khan will make a brief appearance in the film.
On the professional side of Mohanlal, he recently appeared in Tharun Moorthy’s directorial venture, titled Thudarum. This family crime drama revolves around a common man who finds himself in a critical predicament following a tragic incident. The film boasts a strong ensemble cast including Shobana, Prakash Varma, Binu Pappu, among others, and is currently garnering positive responses from audiences in theaters.
In the future, Mohanlal will be working on an uplifting film called “Hridayapoorvam.” This film, helmed by esteemed director Sathyan Anthikad, features Malavika Mohanan as a joint lead with Mohanlal.
