More recently, Jade Thirlwall disclosed an old dating anecdote involving Harry Styles during their time on The X Factor. Thirlwall admitted that they went out on a date when they were both sixteen, shortly after Styles joined One Direction. They maintained contact for some time, but once One Direction started performing live shows, Styles stopped replying to her messages. Reflecting on this, Thirlwall said, “As soon as they began their live performances, he didn’t respond to my messages anymore. The following year saw their paths cross once more as One Direction made a comeback on The X Factor. That’s when Styles apologized to Thirlwall for having overlooked her earlier, admitting his past behavior. Although their short-lived relationship didn’t result in something more substantial, Thirlwall spoke with great admiration for Styles.
