It’s being discussed that Jacob Elordi could join the cast of director Ridley Scott’s next project, titled “The Dog Stars“, taking over the main character from Paul Mescal.
Based on Variety’s report, Elordi is currently discussing potential terms for taking over Mescal’s part in the post-apocalyptic thriller. It appears that Mescal had to withdraw from the project due to his commitment to Sam Mendes’ Beatles series, thus leaving the lead role available and open for contenders like Elordi.
Bar Elordi first gained widespread fame for his performance in HBO’s Euphoria, he has since been a part of several prominent productions such as Saltburn, Priscilla, and others. Notably, Elordi is slated to appear in Guillermo del Toro’s forthcoming Frankenstein adaptation, taking on the character of the Frankenstein monster.
What do we know about The Dog Stars?
The film ‘Dog Stars’ is adapted from a 2012 novel by Peter Heller, and screenwriter Mark L. Smith (known for ‘The Revenant’ and ‘Twisters’) is penning the script. Additionally, Smith will team up with Cliff Roberts and Scott Free to produce the movie.

20th Century Studios’ upcoming movie is projected to start filming in the spring of next year. Another project, the Bee Gees movie, is anticipated to be filmed by Scott in fall 2025, possibly.
A release date for The Dog Stars has not yet been announced by 20th Century Studios.
