‘I’ve been allowed to make mistakes…’: Jr NTR on why he doesn’t want his children to carry on his family’s legacy

As an ardent fan of Jr NTR, I am truly inspired by his wisdom and humility, especially when it comes to raising his children. His approach to allowing them to explore their passions and make their own choices is commendable. It’s a testament to his upbringing, where he was given the freedom to pursue his dreams, from being a national-level badminton player to a professional classical dancer.

Jr NTR, currently enjoying the success of Devara: Part 1, shared in a recent conversation that he aims to give his children the freedom to discover their own paths instead of pushing them towards the family tradition. During an interview with the Associated Press, the actor expressed, “I prefer to encourage them to explore, rather than burdening them with expectations. It’s essential they make their own choices.

Besides discussing his career as an actor, he also mentioned his past as a national-level badminton player and a skilled classical dancer who’s traveled the world. He disclosed that his father didn’t limit him to acting alone. Instead, he said, “I’ve been granted the freedom to make mistakes, but my family has always helped me learn from them.

Additionally, the actor made clear that he aims to serve as a role model for his sons, choosing to blaze a trail instead of being someone they feel obligated to imitate. However, it’s also worth noting that his sons have shown an interest in acting due to the nurturing environment they are raised within.

If you’re not familiar, Jr NTR hails from a renowned family of actors in the Telugu film industry. This lineage traces back to his grand legend, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, who was also known as NTR. Following him, Jr NTR’s father, Nandamuri Balakrishna, also became an actor and later ventured into politics. Similarly, Jr NTR’s uncle, Nandamuri Balakrishna, and his elder brother, Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, are both well-known actors as well.

Regarding the professional side of Jr NTR, he recently appeared in the film titled “Devara.” This film was helmed by Koratala Siva. Notably, this movie forms part of a two-part series. The narrative revolves around the main character who confronts his former allies and battles them on any wrongdoing they may undertake. As a result, he transforms into an urban legend.

As time went by, the legend persisted, with Devara’s son Vara making an effort to lead a modest life. The film showcases the RRR actor in a double role, accompanied by a diverse cast of talented actors such as Saif Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, Kalaiyarasan, Prakash Raj, Shine Tom Chacko, Narain, and numerous others, who all play crucial roles.

In the upcoming movie War 2, the actor will share screen time with Hrithik Roshan, under the guidance of director Ayan Mukerji.
