The official teaser trailer for It: Welcome to Derry has been released.
The HBO series titled “It: Welcome to Derry” is the fresh creation of Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti, and Jason Fuchs. This series acts as a precursor to the It movies released in 2017 (It) and 2019 (It Chapter Two), both of which were adapted from Stephen King’s 1986 novel by the same name.

What happens in the It: Welcome to Derry teaser trailer?
Originating from Warner Bros. Television, a new trailer for “It: Derry” is out, set in the year 1962 – a full 26 years prior to the storyline of the initial It film. In this series, Bill Skarsgård once again brings Pennywise the Clown to life.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that the upcoming series, “It: Welcome to Derry,” delves deeper into Stephen King’s “It” universe, drawing inspiration from his renowned novel. Building upon the visionary work of filmmaker Andy Muschietti in the movies “It” and “It Chapter Two,” this series promises an immersive exploration of the terrifying world of Derry.
Among the talented actors gracing the screen alongside me is Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Madeleine Stowe, and Rudy Mancuso. What a star-studded lineup!
On the show, both Andy and Barbara Muschietti work together with Fuchs, Brad Caleb Kane, David Coatsworth, Bill Skarsgård, Shelley Meals, Roy Lee, and Dan Lin in executive producer roles. Fuchs is responsible for penning the teleplay for the premiere episode and also shares co-showrunner duties with Kane. Meanwhile, Andy Muschietti directs a total of four episodes in this nine-episode series.
Director Andy Muschietti has mentioned in the past that if the first season “Welcome to Derry” turns out to be successful, they plan on creating a total of three seasons. The subsequent seasons would be set in the years 1935 and 1908 respectively.
As a fan, I can share that this story is woven around the snippets from Mike Hanlon’s extensive research, as he elucidated through BloodyDisgusting. These research snippets, or interludes, serve as chapters delving into various past catastrophes. For a span of 27 years, they represent Mike’s relentless pursuit to uncover the truth – what it is, what it did, who was involved, and so on. The narrative includes tales of disastrous events such as the fire in the Black Spot, the Bradley Gang massacre from the 1930s, and the explosion at Kitchener Ironworks. It seems that each time Pennywise emerges from its hibernation, a catastrophic event initiates the cycle.
