As a seasoned gamer and horror movie enthusiast with over two decades of experiencing the chills and thrills of Stephen King’s universe, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming spin-off series, “It: Welcome to Derry.” The eerie town where the terrifying clown Pennywise resides has always been a captivating setting, and the new images released by Warner Bros. Discovery have only heightened that intrigue.
Warner Bros. Discovery unveiled fresh glimpses of the upcoming prequel titled “It: Welcome to Derry“, offering a sneak peek into the forthcoming chapter of the acclaimed It series.
In these fresh images, you won’t find many glimpses of Pennywise the Clown, but they do offer a look at diverse characters living in Derry, the town where the story unfolds. The series features a talented cast including Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Madeleine Stowe, Rudy Mancuso, and Bill Skarsgård, who will once again embody Pennywise from the initial movies.

What do we know about It: Welcome to Derry?
As a devoted admirer, I’d like to share that it was Andy Muschietti, the genius behind both It and It Chapter Two, who collaborated with Barbara Muschietti and Jason Fuchs on the development of Welcome to Derry. In this upcoming nine-episode series, Andy Muschietti himself is set to direct a whopping four episodes.
Apart from Skarsgård, Fuchs, Kane, Brad Caleb Kane, David Coatsworth, Shelley Meals, Roy Lee, and Dan Lin, Andy and Barbara Muschietti are involved as executive producers in the project. Notably, Fuchs and Kane have jointly taken on the role of co-showrunners.
The television show ‘Welcome to Derry’ is set within the universe of Stephen King’s ‘It’, and it draws inspiration from his novel. The series further explores the world created by filmmaker Andy Muschietti, as seen in the movies ‘It’ and ‘It Chapter Two’.
Although a specific release date hasn’t been set just yet, it looks like “Welcome to Derry” will make its debut on HBO sometime in 2025. On the other hand, you can catch “It” right now if you’re an Apple TV+ subscriber, and “It Chapter Two” is available for rental across platforms like Apple TV+, Amazon Prime Video, and others.
