It Ends With Us Video Debunks Blake Lively Sexual Harassment Claims, Says Justin Baldoni’s Lawyers

In a recent turn of events in the ongoing court case between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, Baldoni’s lawyers have disclosed previously unseen material from the movie “It Ends With Us” which they assert contradicts Lively’s allegations of sexual misconduct.

What happens in the It Ends With Us video?

The recently shared video is provided by Baldoni’s law firm, who made available some exclusive behind-the-scenes clips during the filming process of It Ends With Us. In these clips, you’ll find Baldoni and Lively dancing together as they work on one of the movie scenes.

In the video, you can overhear them bantering playfully, discussing if they chat while dancing with their partners, and teasingly commenting on the size of Baldoni’s nose.

The significance of the video, as stated by Baldoni’s legal team, stems from Blake Lively’s initial allegations of sexual harassment against the filmmaker. In her complaint, Lively claimed that during a scene where they were slow dancing, Baldoni deviated from his character and made inappropriate comments about her appearance and scent, which were out of character and had no relevance to the movie.

According to Baldoni’s legal team, the video contradicts those assertions, and it appears to challenge some of Lively’s accusations. It’s uncertain how much of the video has been shared publicly, though, or if there is additional footage that might demonstrate Baldoni acting as Lively alleged.

Previously, Baldoni initiated a lawsuit against Lively on the brink of the New Year, accusing Lively’s PR team of disseminating an “unsubstantiated and self-benefitting story” at his expense. They supposedly cherry-picked and manipulated communications, removing essential context, to portray him negatively. The lawsuit demands a compensation of at least $250 million, with fraud, breach of contract, and libel being the claimed offenses.

In a statement, lawyer Bryan Freedman for Baldoni and his PR team asserted that the New York Times appeared to have yielded to the demands of Blake Lively and her associates in a malicious smear operation, neglecting journalistic integrity and ethical standards they once upheld. They allegedly used fabricated and manipulated documents and intentionally excluded evidence contradicting their preferred PR narrative, bypassing proper reporting practices.

Lively’s complaint alleges that Baldoni created a hostile work environment

The ongoing lawsuit originated from a formal grievance Blake Lively lodged against Baldoni last month. In this complaint, she detailed instances where the working conditions on the set of “It Ends With Us” became intolerable, leading to a critical meeting being convened to address her allegations of a toxic work environment. During this meeting, Lively requested that Baldoni cease displaying nude videos or images of women, stop discussing his history with pornography, stop sharing details about sexual encounters in her presence, and also desist from commenting on her weight.

The grievance further alleges that Wayfarer Studios and the cast reached an understanding where the marketing strategy for the movie would emphasize Lively’s character’s strength and resilience over portraying it as a tale of domestic violence. But, Lively alleges that Baldoni violated this agreement by discussing the film’s grave subject matter in interviews instead.

According to Lively’s statement, it was alleged that Baldoni and his public relations manager, Melissa Nathan, brainstormed strategies for a social media smear campaign intended to damage her reputation. The submission by Lively encompasses approximately 22 pages of text messages between Baldoni’s PR representative and Nathan, where they expressed a desire to see Lively discredited or even “buried.
