Actor Thalapathy Vijay is ready to kick off production on his upcoming film, provisionally named Thalapathy 69. This action-packed movie, led by director H. Vinoth, seems to carry political overtones. Yet, it’s unclear whether this project has any links to the director’s previously abandoned collaboration with Kamal Haasan.

A new movie starring Thalapathy Vijay has been officially announced, symbolized by a poster depicting a man holding a torch alight. In addition, the makers added the tagline: “The Champion of Democracy will be here in October 2025.

There’s been talk that the resemblance between the two recent announcements hints at H Vinoth possibly resurrecting his previously halted project, tailoring it more for Thalapathy Vijay instead of Kamal Haasan. Yet, it’s still uncertain if these films share any connection and it could just be a mere coincidence.

For individuals not in the know, it was originally revealed that H. Vinoth would be directing Kamal Haasan’s film provisionally known as KH233. However, subsequent news surfaced suggesting that Kamal Haasan was undergoing role preparation, but later updates indicated that the project had been abandoned.

The upcoming film featuring Thalapathy Vijay as the main character is rumored to be his last before he dedicates all his efforts to politics. Known tentatively as Thalapathy 69, this project also signifies the fifth time Anirudh Ravichander has worked with him since their previous film together, Leo.
