As a die-hard fan who has been following the Venom saga since its inception, I must admit that the release of Venom 3: The Last Dance has left me both exhilarated and apprehensive. While Tom Hardy’s electrifying portrayal of Eddie Brock and his symbiotic partner, Venom, has been a rollercoaster ride of action-packed thrills, I can’t help but feel a tinge of sadness at the prospect of this being the last solo outing for our favorite anti-hero.
Following the viewing of Venom: Part Three, numerous enthusiasts are curious if The Last Dance marks the end of the road for the notorious symbiote in movie form. Could Tom Hardy reprise his role for Venom 4 within Sony’s Spider-Man Universe? Here’s what we can anticipate regarding Venom and Eddie’s future prospects.
Is Venom: The Last Dance the final movie or will there be a Part 4?
Currently, as I type this, Sony has not disclosed any formal plans for a Venom 4. Moreover, The Last Dance could potentially be the final standalone Venom film, as indicated by the title of Venom 3, past hints dropped by Tom Hardy, and the ending of that movie.
According to an interview with Screen Rant, Hardy expressed that he and director Kelly Marcell poured everything they had into the film, “Venom: The Last Dance.” His remarks implied that he is content with this movie as his final solo appearance in the SSU. He further mentioned, “We’ve thrown every idea we wanted to explore into this movie, within the timeframe provided. This is the most authentic representation of Kelly and me collaborating together.
Although he’s expressed interest in working with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man again, he has not been confirmed for MCU’s Spider-Man 4 yet as he hasn’t received a script. Moreover, it appears that The Last Dance may mark the conclusion of the Venom trilogy.
In the climactic scene, Venom rescued Eddie and destroyed the Xenophages, giving up his life to imprison Knull on the Klyntar. Eddie bid farewell to his ally and found peace, essentially marking the end of an era for Venom. Therefore, it’s quite possible that a Venom 4 will not materialize unless The Last Dance achieves nearly the same level of success as the initial film, which grossed $856 million. If so, Sony may consider producing another standalone Venom movie.
It’s possible that there are several methods for resurrecting Venom. Yet, it seems more probable that we might witness events like Spider-Man battling Venom, Avengers: Secret Wars, or a Sinister Six film within the SSU universe rather than another standalone Venom movie.
