As a long-time fan of Trisha Krishnan’s work, I must say that her latest web series, Brinda, has me absolutely intrigued! The blend of mystery, superstition, and investigative thriller is right up my alley, and the connection to real-life events makes it even more compelling.
Trisha Krishnan’s new web series called Brinda is generating a lot of excitement as it debuts on Sony LIV on August 2, 2024. This suspenseful drama with a chilling plotline and unexpected twists has piqued interest in its possible ties to real-life occurrences. The series delves into the realms of superstition and enigma, leaving audiences speculating whether it is inspired by true events.
“Learnt about certain practices”: Director reveals the inspiration behind Trisha Krishnan’s Brinda
As a gamer, I’m deeply inspired by the intriguing themes of superstition and ritualistic traditions from the real world, but let it be clear that this series isn’t a direct portrayal of any specific real-life events. The brilliant mind behind this creation is Surya Manoj Vangala, who delved deep into the study of ritualistic practices and superstitions. In his own words, he was sparked to create this masterpiece in 2015-16 after reading about a controversial incident in Uttar Pradesh, which led him to discover similar practices elsewhere. Engrossing debates on these topics further ignited his thoughts and creativity.
The investigation into questionable and shadowy activities served as the basis for the storyline in this series. Yet, even though Brinda, portrayed by Trisha Krishnan, was influenced by genuine world problems, it remains a piece of imaginative literature.
Initially destined for sacrifice to the gods as a child, she luckily managed to flee from such fate. Later in life, Brinda serves as a sub-inspector in Hyderabad, earning a reputation for her stern personality and strained relationships. As the story unfolds, she encounters a chilling string of murders that seem to point towards a more ominous, interconnected plot. The narrative then delves into Brinda’s investigation of these crimes, revealing unsettling secrets about both her own past and the criminal underworld she is up against.
In addition to Trisha, the talented cast features Indrajith Sukumaran, Ravindra Vijay, Anandsami, and Rakendu Mouli. The series, titled Brinda, is produced by Ashish Kolla under Adding Advertising LLP. You can stream it in various languages such as Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Bengali, and Hindi.
