As a seasoned Outlander fan and gamer who has attended numerous conventions, I can confidently say that The Gathering 2024 promises to be another unforgettable event. However, as someone who cherishes historical sites, my heart yearns for a visit to the World War I Museum in Kansas City.
Similar to past occasions, The Gathering 2024 will take place at the World War I Museum in Kansas City. With that being said, considering the schedule of the event, will there be an opportunity for you to explore the museum as well?
During the event, you’re welcome to visit the World War I Museum. However, please note that admission to the museum isn’t part of your Gathering package; you’ll need to pay for it separately if you choose to attend. The question is whether you’ll have time for a visit while there.
The Gathering 2024 is a packed event
As a die-hard fan, I must admit that finding time to visit the museum during The Gathering 2024 can be quite challenging due to its bustling nature. However, if you’re not among the privileged Fraser’s Ridge or Lallybroch tier holders, early Friday might just be your lucky day. From morning until approximately 3 p.m., these top tiers are usually granted exclusive access for photo ops and autograph sessions. In fact, Sasnak City kindly requests that you avoid the museum before around 1 p.m. local time during The Gathering.
Hey there! Since I’m arriving on Thursday evening, I figure I might as well make use of my morning. I thought it would be a great idea to explore a bit of Kansas City before diving into gaming again. Looking forward to it!
If you have a ticket for Fraser’s Ridge or Lallybroch, your Friday might be quite busy and not leave time for personal activities. However, there could be some free time on Sunday, as this is typically when other tiers will complete their activities. Do note that on Sunday, there may be unexpected panels and meet-and-greets to accommodate. So, it’s best to schedule only Gathering-related plans for Saturday and Sunday.
Go the day before or the day after
You can’t visit the World War I Museum in Kansas City on Sunday as it will be closed to the public. However, if you’d like to see it, pop by on Thursday or Monday instead! If your stay is extended, then those days would be perfect for you!
Be sure to set aside some additional minutes in your schedule to visit the museum. Trust me, it’s worth the time. Given that The Gathering is taking place so near Remembrance Day/Veteran’s Day, this will be an excellent opportunity to pay tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for our liberties. However, please note that during the actual Sasnak City event, you may not have ample time.
The Gathering 2024 takes place between Thursday, Nov. 14 and Sunday, Nov. 17.
