Currently, Suriya is engrossed in the production of his upcoming movie, known as Suriya46, helmed by Venky Atluri. Yet, this talented actor has been generating a lot of buzz recently due to the long-awaited film he’s working on with Vetrimaaran, named Vaadivaasal.
Currently, there are rumors swirling around about the film’s postponement or cancellation. In light of these speculations, renowned producer and writer Dhananjeyan has shared some insights on the matter.
Is Suriya starrer Vaadivaasal delayed because of Vetrimaaran?
As a devoted admirer, I’ve learned from a recent conversation with Cinema Express that our cherished star, Suriya, remains enthusiastic about the project. However, he desires a well-crafted, tightly bound screenplay prior to diving into production.
According to his statement, “The situation revolves around timing. Both Vetrimaaran and Suriya have shown interest in this project, but here’s the catch: Suriya’s project with Venky Atluri (Suriya46) has been delayed, whereas Vetrimaaran hasn’t finished writing the complete script for his part yet.
As seen through Suriya’s perspective, he insists on having the entire screenplay before moving forward with production. Moreover, he has expressed his intention to produce this project as a single episode, and he stands prepared to provide the necessary dates for filming. This was stated by Dhananjeyan.
According to the producer, Vetrimaaran doesn’t typically follow a written script when directing films. Instead, he shapes his work during the filmmaking process, refining it daily as the production progresses.
To wrap up, Suriya remains open to scheduling commitments, but needs a finalized script beforehand. Until then, he’ll carry on with his ongoing projects. This flexibility allowed Vetrimaaran to focus on a new film featuring Silambarasan TR as the main character, which is set for release soon.
What is Vaadivaasal about?
For anyone who might not know, Vaadivaasal is a project that Suriya has been eagerly anticipating for some time. The movie was initially announced several years back, but it faced delays because both the actor and director had other obligations to attend to first.
In the film, the narrative centers around Picchi and Marudan, two participants from the rural town of Periyapatti, who are preparing for the annual bull-taming festival known as jallikattu. Their objective is to conquer a fierce bull that once bested Picchi’s father in this very competition.
On the professional side of things for actor Suriya, he is set to take on a leading role in the film “Karuppu,” directed by RJ Balaji. This high-energy, commercial action movie also features Trisha sharing the lead role with him.
